摘要：

The research and development in the field of materials science in Ukraine was discussed. The State Scientific and Technical Programs (SSTP) were aimed at coordination of different programs to improve traditional materials and develop new generation materials. Various SSTP in progress were namely, New Metal Materials, Materials for Electronics, New Substances and Materials for Chemical Industry, Super-hard and Ceramic materials, Biomaterials, Functional ceramics and others.
