Monte Carlo simulations of twelve columns subjected to fire are being performed, using the Advanced Calculation Method given in DIN EN 1992-1-2. In the simulation pin ended columns with a constant eccentricity, heated on all surfaces by a standard fire, are considered. The considered fire resistance is derived from the tabulated data in DIN EN 1992-1-2. The range of parameters of the simulated columns is within the range of previously tested columns. The probability of failure is calculated and evaluated for both runs. Two separate sets of Monte Carlo simulations are performed. In the first run the uncertainties of the thermal analysis and the resistance model are considered, in the second they are disregarded. It can be shown, that ignoring the model uncertainties can lead to unsafe results.
