Estimation of the nominal height of a defect

摘要
In estimating the extended height of a defect, the path length of the echo signal fr om the defect along the scanning line is compared with the path length of the echo signal from a lateral cylindrical hole. We establish the nonlinearity of the parameter as a function of the depth at which the hole is located for sever al transducers.
