摘要
The study gives information concerning the results of two investigations of the quality of life of oncological patients in the Czech republic that took place in 2000-2001. The first one involved the sample of women with breast carcinoma, the second one the patients with more heterogenic oncological diseases. The first study shows that the intensity of psychosomatic problems the patients are facing is significantly influenced by the form of treatment of their illness. Both the studies lead to the similar conclusions concerning the rank of psychosomatic factors influencing the quality of life in oncological patients: in both studies the quality of life was influenced by the fatigue most of all. In the second study, the structural model was tested according to that pain, psychological tension and nausea (as well as the level of hemoglobin) influence the quality of life both directly, and through the mediation of influencing the fatigue experience. The results fit well with this model.
