Stability of solitary waves for a rod equation

摘要：
In this paper we consider a new rod equation derived recently by Dai [Acta Mech. 127(1-4) (1998) 193-207] for a compressible hyperelastic material. We prove that the smooth solitary waves to this rod equation are orbital stable. (C) 2003 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
