摘要
The steady-state tip vortex flow generated by a marine propeller has been computed using a RANS solver. A spiral-like structured grid with grid concentration aligned with the vortex core was generated. Validation studies have been carried out for the David Taylor Model Basin (DTMB) 5168 propeller model at the open-water condition. Various eddy viscosity turbulence models and Reynolds-stress models were employed in the computations. The effect of the turbulence modeling and the grid resolution on the solution was investigated. The computed velocity field was compared with experimental data.
