Electron-acoustic solitary waves and double layers in a relativistic electron-beam plasma system

摘要
The exact Sagdeev's pseudopotential is derived for electron-acoustic waves in a two electron temperature plasma ("cold" and "hot" electrons) in the presence of relativistic electron beam plasma using a vortex-like distribution for trapped electrons. It is found that the relativistic effect restricts the region of existence for solitary waves. It is also seen that different ordering in phi, the electric potential, yields different solitary wave solutions. It is also observed that a double layer solution exists even if one keeps terms up to order phi(5/2). (C) 2004 American Institute of Physics.
