The Academic and Administrative Power Conflicts and Analysis of Management Principles in China

As two basic powers existing in Chinese universities, the conflict and coordination between Academic power and administrative power exist in the overall operation and development of colleges and universities. For a long time, the traditional management and political economic system have significant impact on the power disposing of Chinese colleges and universities, which has led to the dominance of the administrative power. Furthermore, the administrative powers of colleges and universities are extremely centralized; the powers' division of party and. government leaders is vague, the importance of academic power has not been revealed etc. This paper analyses the difference, relation, as well as the fundamental reasons for conflicts between the academic power and administrative power from the perspective of the emergence approach, the relations of subject and object, the action range and action mode. Thus solutions are proposed to solve the conflicts between the academic power and administrative power. This paper offers a positive reference to solve the conflicts between academic power and administrative power which has long plagued the development of colleges and universities.
