摘要
The effects of high strain rate and low temperature on the tensile properties of TA2 were investigated. The results show that, high strain rate and low temperature have effects on tensile properties of TA2. At the strain rates of 1.6 x 10(-3) and room temperature, with strain rate increasing, tensile strength does not change at first, then increases slightly, while at high strain rate (8.0 x 10(2)similar to 1.2 x 10(3)), strength decreases by about 14%. In the above situation, elongation decreases slightly at the beginning, then recovers, no brittleness appears. In the temperature range from RT. to -196 degrees C and at normal strain rate, with temperature decreasing, tensile strength increases obviously, elongation decreases slightly first and then increases. At -196 degrees C, the elongation reaches 40%, the phenomenon of plasticity increasing appears. In the co-action of high strain rate and low temperature, the brittleness of TA2 Ti alloy appears, and strength increases while plasticity decrease greatly. The unique properties of TA2 are related with twinning and slipping behavior.
