Marangoni instability of a layer of binary liquid in the presence of nonlinear Soret effect

The influence of the nonlinear Soret effect on the stationary Marangoni-Benard stability conditions in a binary mixture layer with a flat free surface was studied. The study aims to recognize the effect of the nonlinear Soret diffusion on morphological stability. A coefficient that quantifies the Soret effect is approximated by ST(β0+β1c), where ST = DT/Dc is the coefficient that quantifies the Soret effect, ST is the Soret coefficient which is equal to DT/Dc, DT is the thermodiffusion coefficient, Dc is the isothermal diffusion coefficient, and β0 and β1 are constant.
