Reduction of the Distortions in Optical Measuring Systems

摘要
It is shown that in optical measuring systems the errors in measuring the coordinates of an object largely depend on the image distortions, due to diffraction by the objective. An analytical estimate is given of these distortions as a function of the size of the objective, which indicates the possibility of reducing image distortions by a more accurate choice of the size of the objective and other parameters of the optical channel.
