摘要
Felodipine, a long-acting 1,4-dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker (CCB)b, is clinically employed to treat mild to moderate essential hypertension. This study aims to determine the inhibition of felodipine on the activity of UDP-glucuronosyltransferase (UGT) 1A6 which is the main enzyme catalyzing the metabolic elimination of serotonin. 100 mu M of felodipine was used as the initial screening concentration to determine the inhibition of felodipine on the activity of UGT1A6, and approximately 100% activity of UGT1A6 was inhibited by 100 mu M of felodipine. Taken together, our recent study gave a rapid report demonstrating the inhibition of anti-hypertensive drug felodipine on the metabolism of serotonin.
