Brute-Force GPU Accelerated Evaluation of Dipole-Dipole Interactions

摘要
A brute-force computation of interactions between elementary dipoles using graphics processing units (GPUs) is presented. The embarrassing parallelism of this problem allows for efficient utilization of the available hardware. Storing the geometrical arrangement of the dipoles only, keeps the memory requirements at a minimum. Despite its quadratic computational complexity, the GPU algorithm is shown to solve a synthetic near-field far-field transformation problem with millions of unknowns in reasonable time.
