摘要
The paper reviews biographical ethics from the point of view of the history of biography, and examines some ethical issues concerning modem biographies. The author of this paper argues that, due to the transformation of ethical ideologies in modem society, the influence of psychoanalysis and other factors, biographical ethics experiences a "turn" in the 20th century. Modem biography turns its chief attention from its biographee's abstract "good" to his/her deep-seated "truth", and "truth" has become the principal ethics of modern biography. The author emphasizes that this "turn" is also the deepening of traditional biographical ethics, for the true story of a man's life always contains a moral lesson.
