摘要：
The aim of this review is to summarize our most recent work on the histaminergic modulation of the basal forebrain cholinergic neurons. The importance of the neuromodulatory effect that histamine exerts on acetylcholine (ACh) release is becoming poignant, since the regulation of ACh release in some brain district affects cognitive processes. The microdialysis technique is being used in association with immunohistochemistry and behavioral experiments to determine the molecular and functional relevance of the interactions between the histaminergic and cholinergic systems.
