摘要
The connectivity and the flow or mechanical properties of networks of faults and joints are key factors in a number of applications. Only a minute fraction of the fractures in the domain of interest are usually observed, so that a deterministic modeling of the fracture network is not possible. Stochastic models have been developed for a variety of fracture patterns. They can be classified in objects models, which are purely stochastic, and process-based models, which take account of the mechanical processes that rule fracturing. This presentation is focused on the geometrical and topological aspects of fracture networks.
