摘要：
Adaptive optics is an enabling technology for large aperture ground-based telescopes and interferometric arrays that breaks the angular resolution barrier set by atmospheric turbulence. This paper discusses some of the important trends of this technology and how it might impact astronomy in the early part of the next century.
