Domain decomposition methods for mortar finite element discretizations of plate problems

摘要
Mortar finite element methods for clamped plate problems are discussed. In the subdomains conforming the reduced Hsieh-Clough-Tocher (HCT) macroelement defined on nonmatching triangulations is utilized. Two additive Schwarz methods for solving the system of linear equations arising from this discretization are designed and analyzed. The condition numbers of the preconditioned systems are almost optimal; i.e., they are independent of the number of subdomains and grow only logarithmically with respect to the mesh parameters.
