Bio-synthesis of silver nanoparticles using leaf extract of Rhaphidophora pertusa and its characterization, antimicrobial, antioxidant and cytotoxicity activities

摘要
The current study investigated the bio-synthesis of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) through the use of leaf extract of Rhaphidophora pertusa. Visual confirmation of the formation of bio-synthesized R.pertusa silver nanoparticles (RP-AgNPs) came from observing the colour development of the colloidal AgNPs. Additionally, the characterization of AgNPs through FTIR, HR-SEM, EDAX, XRD, HR-TEM and DLS was carried out. At 424 nm, the presence of AgNPs was confirmed by UV-vis spectra. FTIR reveals the secondary molecules of R.pertusa which were bound with AgNPs containing -OH and -NH functional groups. The synthesized particles' sizes are validated by HR-TEM as approximately 19 nm, whereas EDAX investigations substantiated the existence of AgNPs. The FCC crystallinity of the synthesized RP-AgNPs was confirmed by the XRD report. The antioxidant response for the bio-synthesized RP-AgNPs was determined by DPPH assay. RP-AgNPs exhibited well inhibitory with 77.53% at 500 mu g/mL. Furthermore, it was found that RP-AgNPs have good antibacterial activity on gram-positive (5.1 +/- 1.82574 mm for Staphylococcus aureus) and gram-negative (3.1 +/- 1.8257 mm for E.coli) bacteria for 10 mu L/mL. The research shows that the MCF-7 cell proliferation is effectively inhibited by the synthesized RP-AgNPs with IC50 seen at 102.4 mu g/mL. As a result, the present research findings have enormous potential for the delivery of medication.
