摘要
A dual-port dual circularly polarized aperture coupled patch antenna designed for S-band telemetry application is presented in this paper. A microstrip line quadrature hybrid is used as the feed to excite two orthogonal modes of the patch. An H-shaped slot is used to couple fields to the patch antenna. An air dielectric of 6mm thickness is used between the patch and the quadrature hybrid feed to achieve a broad bandwidth. The antenna is having a 2:1 VSWR bandwidth of 22% centered at 2.25GHz, axial ratio bandwidth of 10%, and 1dBi gain variation within 7.5% bandwidth with a peak gain of 7.8dBi. The antenna is RHCP/LHCP polarized when excited from respective ports with an axial ratio of less than 3dB. The overall dimension of the antenna is 75mm x 75mm x 7.5mm.
