摘要：

This article examines how Briony, the central protagonist of Ian McEwan's novel Atonement comes to terms with her guilt for the wrong she had done as a 13-year-old. Her guilt turns into a traumatic memory which she attempts to overcome by adopting the therapeutic exercise of writing, i.e. scriptotherapy.
