Analysis of the Relationship between Corruption and the Effectiveness of Management of the Council of Citizen Participation and Social Control in Ecuador

The Council of Citizen Participation and Social Control is institutionalized in the Constitution of the Republic of Ecuador 2008, where it is established as an entity with the function of promoting citizen participation and social control. Among its responsibilities is the appointment of authorities within the framework of the Law. Therefore, it works to achieve a participatory democracy, in which citizens are involved as active and empowered entities that watch over the constitutional mandate. Among its priority goals are to achieve a society free of corruption, that is able to report, direct and follow up on the process to determine acts of corruption in all political and administrative affairs of the State. Therefore, the present study aims to demonstrate the efficiency achieved in the management of the Council of Citizen Participation and Social Control against acts of corruption within the country. For the development of the study, qualitative explanatory research of reference sources was used. As a result, it is required that the Council of Citizen Participation and Social Control work to protect the benefits of society and the credibility of state institutions.
