摘要
Graduates from information technology careers, such as Systems Engineering, Software Development Technology and similar, are currently one of the biggest concerns for the university, the company and the Colombian State, due to the fact that the shortage of these professionals is increases every day in the country. The objective of this study was to present a relationship of student desertion in Information Technology -IT-programs in Colombia, and to show that, through good teaching practice, academic desertion can be minimized. The methodology began based on positivist principles, through a correlational study; A survey was applied as an information collection technique to 81 students of careers related to technology, using the Cronbach's Alpha test of validity and reliability. The results reaffirmed that technological tools, used through learning strategies in the classroom, are a key piece in motivating and strengthening the training process; which contributes significantly to the minimization of academic desertion. It is concluded that the immersion of technological tools in education, incorporating gamification and integrating projects, strengthen the teaching and learning process.
