Governance in a Federal State: the perception of employees and public managers regarding the implications in organizational daily life

摘要
This research aimed to understand the perception of public employees (managers and non-managers) of a Federal State regarding the implications of the implementation of Corporate Governance in their organizational routine resulting from the legal determinations established by the normative framework of State-owned companies in Brazil initiated in the year of 2016 by Law No. 13,303. Methodologically, it was an descriptive-explanatory quantitative research. The universe consisted of 3.249 employees (managers and non-managers), according to information from September 2019 extracted from the institutional website, whose sample resulted in 361 responses. An online questionnaire with two blocks was adopted. The Mann-Whitney U test and an Exploratory Factor Analysis were performed, generating 7 explanatory factors. The main results show that governance is perceived in daily work, and remains more evident in the view of those who do not occupy a gratifi ed role. It is concluded that the management of governance practices are fulfi lling their purpose, even going beyond respect for the normative framework that deals with the subject.
