Autism spectrum disorder generates disability that alters the behavior of human beings, both at the individual and family level; The effects generated by the disease condition different degrees of disability and affect the perception of quality of life. There are studies that report that with the implementation of psychological interventions, positive effects can be achieved both in the cognitive and behavioral spheres of patients, which favors their social interrelationship. The objective of this work was to determine the effectiveness of psychological interventions in children with autism spectrum disorders. To achieve this, was necessary to carry out a basic, descriptive and transversal study, consisting of a nonsystematic bibliographic review that included a total of 94 documents as a universe; of which it was decided that 24 would be part of the research sample. The information search was carried out in regional and high-impact databases such as Scopus, Elsevier, Lilacs, Latindex, Ice Web of Sciencie, Redalyc and Scielo. Improvements are reported in social and communication skills, adaptive behaviors and a decrease in symptoms typical of the spectrum. The active role of parents in the treatment of their children is evident, being able to adapt to their needs. It is concluded that behavioral therapies are the most frequent and demonstrate the importance of early initiation of interventions; It is necessary to establish long-term treatments. However, there is no evident demonstration that the effects of the interventions are not related to other factors.
