Coherent coupling between surface plasmons and localized surface plasmons in black phosphorus metamaterials

摘要
We propose a hybrid structure supporting electromagnetic coupling between black phosphorus surface plasmons (BPSP) mode and localized surface plasmons (BPLSP) mode theoretically. By dynamically controlling the carrier concentration of the black phosphorus strip, we show the coherent BPLSP-BPSP mode coupling. The coherent coupling can be described by using the coupled oscillator model, which shows a distinct Rabi splitting phenomena with frequency of 8.7 THz. The coherent coupling between BPLSP mode and BPSP mode also leads to the formation of multiple hybrid modes. In addition, we also explore the influence of structural parameters on coherent coupling. Our work may provide a reference for the interaction between different mode coupling.(c) 2023 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
