A reappraisal of Coeloma sabatium RISTORI, 1886 (Brachyura, Carcinidae) from the Pliocene of Savona (Liguria, north- west Italy)

摘要：

The crab species, Coeloma sabatinum, from the Pliocene of ?Fornaci, Savona (Liguria, north -west Italy) is reassessed based on the type specimen which had previously been presumed lost. We have managed to trace in the historical holdings of the University of Genova as part of the ISSEL collection. This specimen enables an emended diagnosis and a proper discussion of this poorly known form. We concur with RISTORI's generic attribution. Coeloma sabatinum represents the sole Pliocene and youngest species of this extinct genus known to date.
