摘要
The media, as a means of socialization, promote social mobilization, awareness and orientation of mental attitudes. In the Latin American context, no studies have been identified that address the identity of bisexual masculinity in the press. A descriptive, non -experimental and cross-sectional quantitative study was carried out with the objective of exploring the visibility of male bisexuality in the Mexican national press. It was addressed through a diachronic hemerographic analysis of 11 Mexican national newspapers. The sample was made up of 156 publications on male bisexuality, which represented the total universe. An analysis of measures of central tendency of the news frame, the representations of hegemonic masculinity and contingency tables based on the political ideology of the newspapers was carried out. The profile of publications on male bisexuality is: event articles, published by women, dehumanized, contextualized at an international level and based on actions linked to entertainment, activism and politics. The 97.67% of the personified news reproduce a vision based on hegemonic masculinity, especially regarding transcendence (81.4%), self-sufficiency (62.79%) and strength (53.49%) and on a higher average in newspapers linked to a more conservative. Male bisexuality is characterized by less visibility than other sexual orientations and identities in Mexican newspapers; as well as for their socialization through hegemonic masculinity.
