THE DOMESTIC AND FAMILY VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN IN PARAÍSO DO TOCANTINS, TOCANTINS STATE: A STATISTICAL ANALYSIS

Eliminating all forms of discrimination and violence against women is a goal of international organizations for the protection of human rights. Brazil, as a signatory of international conventions, supports mechanisms that aim to curb violence against women, especially domestic and family violence, such as Law n. 11340/2006 - Maria da Penha. The promotion of public policies runs through the knowledge of statistical data, and this study intends to present census data concerning domestic and family violence against women registered by the military and civil police in the city of Paraiso do Tocantins, state of Tocantins, in the years 2021 and 2022, showing both the number of records, as well as the ethnic, age, geographic profile, type of relationship between the victim and the aggressor in addition to the types of violence suffered by the victim, in order to guide the city towards the discussion and promotion of public policies to fight and prevent violence against women.
