The concepts & raquo;labor & laquo; and & raquo;work & laquo; have different etymologies that have become entwined in the course of European history. By tracing the changes in meaning these words have undergone, we gain a view to the current situation of anthropogenic climate change and the efforts to think through how this situation affects our categories more broadly. That has consequences for the humanities.
