摘要:
Background: Planning and managing cities has been a great challenge for public managers, mainly due to the problems and demands related to basic sanitation issues. An initiative that aims to help mitigate these problems is the concept of Smart Cities, which uses ICTs as agents of transformation in the urban environment. One of the tools used by Smart Cities are urban indicators, which serve as a subsidy to analyze the context of cities. In this scenario, the research aimed to carry out an analysis of urban indicators of water and sewage services in the city of Passo Fundo-RS. Method: For this purpose, the indicators of the Ranking Connected Smart Cities and the Demographic Census and its spatialization, carried out through the QGIS software, were used as a reference. Results: The results show that the basic sanitation indices in Passo Fundo are far from the levels considered ideal for becoming a smarter and more sustainable city, especially with regard to urban sewage service, which covers only 31% of the city's households. Contributions: Furthermore, such results show a concentration of urban infrastructure in the central area of the city, and an obsolescence and vulnerability in peripheral areas, thus causing socio-territorial inequalities.
