摘要
The Baby Boomer generation (1946-1964), owner and holder of the prosperity after both world wars in Europe, obtained and enjoyed a world, so far, unthinkable: free of scarcity with the perception that, in general terms, everything was reachable though the power of effort. Those boomers brought up the best raised generation in the history of Spain (The Abundance Generation, Renteria Garita, 2020) and made it under a series of parameters, a common sense that included the ascent to the middle-class through university education, the equality of opportunities and the meritocracy. With the 2008 crisis, those imaginaries collapsed so nowadays that generation assumes itself as a victim of a country and a reality that is not the promised one. This paper presents five novelistic analysis (authors and their works) that give a testimony of such Spanish common sense. To do so, proposes a methodological exercise (a series of activities) directed to high-school students (second year) with the purpose to reflect on the common sense as a collective patrimony, mostly to question its appropriateness for the building of current society, especially, the one of the future.
