Deep-Learning Enabled Uncertainty Estimation Applied to Experimental Near-Field Microwave Imaging of 2-D Dielectric Cylinders

摘要
We present reconstructions of dielectric cylinder targets from an experimental 2-D near-field microwave imaging system. A data-to-image UNet was trained on a synthetic dataset consisting of EMNIST characters and dielectric cylinders. Simulated scattered fields were obtained using a Finite-Element-Method forward solver. A pre-existing Bayesian deep-learning approach is adopted to this UNet using dropout variational inference to provide quantitative estimates of the uncertainty in the reconstruction.
