摘要
This study analyzed how African, American, and British online mainstream news sources visually represent Boko Haram survivors. A longitudinal study from 2014 to 2021 was conducted using purposive sampling to analyze news media photographs with captions (N = 187). Drawing from agenda-setting and cultural dimensions frameworks, the study identified major differences in survivors' gender, emotional expressions, and personally identifiable information across all three online news platforms. Findings show that these media portrayals of terrorism survivors reflect the cultural norms of the society in which the predominant audience of these outlets resides.
