The objective of this study is to analyze the relationship between Haitians and their professed religion in the place where they settle, identifying the manifestation and preservation of the religious identity element. To elucidate the Haitian religious expressiveness, the influence of voodoo, Catholicism and Protestantism in the configuration of the sacred world in Haiti is described. The research comes from empirical observations carried out in the cities of Lajeado, Estrela and Encantado, in the Vale do Taquari region, in Rio Grande do Sul. It was observed that there are particularities in the way different groups of Haitians manifest and experience their faith, even following the same religion. It results from an ethnographic research, carried out between the years 2017 to 2020, combined with documentary and bibliographical research with a qualitative approach.
