摘要
A survey shows for the first time how important senior Indian scientists perceive science communication with the general public to be. Most of them believe communicating science is important, and that scientists have a moral duty to inform the public about their research. While they believe increasing public awareness of science and improving science–society linkages are important, they are concerned that scientific ignorance among the public can potentially hinder the advancement of science. Potential implications for enhancing science communication in India are discussed. © 2022 Royal Meteorological Society.
