摘要
As we progress through the technological timeline, the importance of the phrase "sustainability" becomes more apparent. The use of non-renewable energy as a power source is out of date. To power the systems, the new technologies and designs rely on renewable and sustainable energy. In order for a system to function successfully, it is critical to harvest the most possible power from the source, in which case the Energy Harvesting Power Management Integrated Circuit (EH-PMIC) comes into the picture. A Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) and Buck-Boost Converter are required as a result. These blocks, when used together, guarantee that the renewable energy source, in this case its solar cell, delivers the greatest amount of electricity to the system. This project aims to design an MPPT and power converter. This paper describes the design and implementation of EH-PMIC in Cadence virtuoso using TSMC-180nm technology. The whole EH-PMIC is designed and simulated in Virtuoso Schematic Editor and Spectre Simulator. Physical implementation is done using a virtuoso layout editor and DRC, and LVS is clean with post layout simulations matching the expected specifications.
