摘要
Das Glaukom ist durch den Verlust von retinalen Ganglienzellen und deren Axonen gekennzeichnet. Studien haben gezeigt, dass ein glaukomatoses strukturelles Fortschreiten in der Makula fruher erkannt werden kann als funktionelle Veranderungen. Ob eine rasche Ausdunnung des Ganglienzellkomplexes (GCC) im Anfangsstadium mit der Rate eines zentralen Gesichtsfeldausfalls im Laufe der Zeit zusammenhangt, ist bislang nicht eindeutig geklart.
