摘要
The InContext mobile application (Lerma-Noriega, 2020) is a tool that supports the creation of texts among university students. Its main objective is to allow students to use different techniques when preparing academic texts. The results of an initial assessment indicated that students improved two crucial skills: text elaboration and cognitive self-regulation (meta-cognition). However, it is necessary to validate these results in a similar population but a different cultural context. The hypothesis is that InContext supports developing the same variables in other populations. We conducted a study that evaluated the variables of interest between two university populations in Mexico and Colombia to test the hypotheses. The results were positive and indicated that the groups were homogeneous, similar to the previous evaluation. Subsequent works will seek to incorporate new elements that improve some other variables associated with the writing of academic texts.
