摘要
To determine the relationship between social capital, sense of coherence, and health-promoting lifestyles of empty nesters and to clarify the mediating role of the sense of coherence. A total of 452 community-based empty nesters were recruited from February 2023 to May 2023 using a convenience sample from Guiyang, China. Cross-sectional data on older adults' social capital, sense of coherence, and health-promoting lifestyle were collected using questionnaires. Structural equation modeling was constructed using Amos 27.0, and the mediating effect of sense of coherence was tested using the bootstrap method. The results showed that the significant mediating role of sense of coherence between social capital and health-promoting lifestyle (b=0.367, SE=0.066, 95% CI [0.246, 0.509]) explained 52.7% of the total effect of social capital on health -pro-moting lifestyle. These findings provide a better understanding of how social capital and sense of coherence together to affect health-promoting lifestyles, and they could guide the interventions to promote health -pro-moting lifestyles among empty nesters.& COPY; 2023 Elsevier Inc.
