摘要
Happiness Is Not a Happy Life The thesis of the article concerns an interpretation of a key problem in Aristotle's Nicomachean Ethics: the author defends the point of view that argues that it is not true that, for Aristotle, happiness is a happy life. He argues that happiness (eudaimonia) is contemplation (theoria) in accordance with what Aristotle repeatedly says in Book X of the Nicomachean Ethics. On the other hand, a happy life (what might be called eudaimon bios) is a complex way of life that involves not only theoretical activity but also the activity of other virtues, including the so-called moral or social virtues.
