摘要
Despite the existing consensus that urban rehabilitation and urban regeneration are essential to meet the challenges our cities are facing, an intervention model to address these processes has not yet been consolidated. In Spain, urban planning and sectoral urban regeneration policies are the basic tools for doing so. These two intervention models in the existing city have different approaches and scopes. Although they may coincide in objectives, they are not always coordinated and it would allow a better approach to current urban challenges if they did. The article focuses on the relationship between both tools trying to identify their confluences and divergences as well as their possible coordination in order to enhance their virtues.
