34% der Erkrankten mit Ischialgien wegen einer Diskushernie leiden langer als 2 Jahre unter Schmerzen. Wenn konservative Standardma ss nahmen ineffektiv bleiben, kann eine transforaminale epidurale Kortikosteroidinjektion (TEFSI) helfen. Die Studiengruppe verglich in einer randomisierten Phase-3-Studie, ob zusatzliche gepulste Radiofrequenzen (PRF) die Effektivitat steigerten.
