摘要
This article has its analytical lens aimed at discussing the understanding of ethnic-racial relations and affirmative action policies for access to secondary education in federal secondary education institutions. This study focuses on a basic education unit in the city of Nova Iguacu, Baixada Fluminense, Rio de Janeiro. The background of this research, which originated this article, is the Education Project for ethnic-racial relations at school -"Multiple Identities", where the research subjects were the teachers and support and administrative staff of a teaching unit on the periphery of the city of Sao Paulo. city of Nova Iguacu/RJ. In addition to the discussions that permeate a brief report on affirmative action policies, this article also dealt with heteroidentification stalls, which emerged as tools in the fight against Afroconvenience. The results of the heteroidentification panel, operationalized to confirm or not the ethnic -racial self-declarations of the research subjects, showed that some did not recognize themselves as black and this directly affects their participation in the information process and implementation of law 12711/2012, better known as a quota law, along with basic education students.
