摘要
A large percentage of maternal complications and deaths in the United States are due to hypertensive disorders of pregnancy; although these complications gradually improve after delivery, there are cases where it takes months for blood pressure to return to normal. Research has shown that blood pressure typically peaks 3 to 7 days postpartum, meaning that many individuals experience peaks in their blood pressure that put them at risk for stroke or seizure after discharge from the hospital.
