Early last year major earthquakes devastated parts of Turkiye and Syria, killing nearly 60 000 people and destroying 84 000 buildings. Seismic experts Ziggy Lubkowski and Kubilay Hicylmaz of Arup summarise the various international reports on the disaster and the lessons learned.
