摘要：

Pumped storage power plants are becoming more and more important due to the enforcement of renewable energy from wind and sun. Because of the building of new pumped storage power plants between existing reservoirs their dams are affected by the faster change of the reservoir level. Therefore, the frost exposure or the gradient of pore water pressure increases. The gravity dams Grosser and Kleiner Muhldorfer See which were built in the 50th of the last century are good examples for such a change of use. The dams are part of Austrians most powerful plant complex.
