Is the mind-body problem a mystery?

The mysterian position in philosophy of mind is in the minority. Defended in particular by Noam Chomsky and Colin McGinn, they claim that our cognitive and conceptual abilities are insufficient to offer a satisfactory answer to the following question: how can consciousness emerge from our brain? In presenting Chomsky's partial genealogy of the mind-body problem, we will address McGinn's central argument that we have good reason to believe that we will never solve the problem of consciousness. The objective will be to consider his argument from a critical point of view in order to determine if it is conclusive.
