摘要
Objectives: In this study, we investigated the influence of improved stoma bags on postoperative indicators in patients undergoing stoma surgery for colon cancer. Methods: A total of 100 patients who underwent surgical treatment for colon cancer were selected as research participants. They were randomly divided into an observation group of 51 cases and a control group of 49 cases using a blind method. The observation group received modified protective colostomy bags, and the control group received conventional stoma bags. We compared surgical indicators, complications, adaptation levels, and serum gastrin (GAS) levels between the 2 groups. Results: After surgery, the observation group had significantly shorter fasting time, hospital stay, and time to pass flatus compared to the control group (p < .05). The observation group also had a lower incidence of postoperative complications compared to the control group, with statistically significant differences (p < .05). Furthermore, the observation group had higher stoma adaptation level scores compared to the control group, with statistically significant differences (p < .05). Additionally, the GAS levels in the observation group were significantly lower than in the control group after surgery (p < .05). Conclusion: The modified surgery for stoma bag placement is characterized by its simplicity and cost-effectiveness. Patients can learn quickly how to use it, which helps them overcome psychological barriers, reduce anxiety, promote postoperative recovery, and improve their quality of life.
