PHRASEOLOGY AND &DLANGBRAC;ROMANCERO&drangbrac;: A RENEWED PERSPECTIVE

& DLANGBRAC;Romancero & drangbrac; , historical Phraseology are philological fields whose oral and written transmission intersect, with relevant outcomes. This article offers some reflections on the convenience of studying both fields concurrently, given that some phraseological units contained in Spanish ballads show historical, geographical and social significant variation that may contribute to their diachronic study; to this must be added the prospective bene-fits of applying the methodological principles of historical phraseology to the study of the & DLANGBRAC;Romancero & drangbrac;, as they could shed light on the process of oral and written transmission of Spanish ballads.
